Interview with RDB and Indy Sagu

By Neelu Shori

Q: How did you become interested in music and at what age?
A: It was mainly through listening to hip-hop music while growing up.

Q: How does your music differ from Bhangra DJs?
A: We cater distinct music for each community. Each country prefers different types of music so we create and specialize our music accordingly for the U.S., U.K., and India.

Q: Where do you look to find your inspiration for your music?
A: We look at all different kinds of music such as Old School Bhangra. Also, Western rappers like Dr. Dre, Latin artists, and English songs.

Q: When are you planning your next release?
A: “Simply RDB” is going to be released in 3 weeks and it is catered personally for the U.S.

Q: Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
A: Hopefully in about 2 years, we’ll be crossing into the mainstream music and recording big labels with popular American artists—we want to be successful South Asian DJs. Also, we also want to find an Indian female artist to prove that girls can also succeed in the South Asian music industry.

Q: Is there anything you want to mention on the website for our readers?
A: To support our music industry by listening to all of the different sorts of music. And most importantly, be proud of our Asian culture.
